Case studies

What this looks like in practice.

Four anonymised stories from real integr8 projects. We do not name customers in public, so each story describes the organisation instead.

01

A global transport organisation combined multiple project controls systems and projects into a single InEight instance.

The challenge

Multiple project controls systems and multiple projects held multi-terabyte records, rich metadata, versions and email. The information needed to become one O&M source of truth in InEight.

What was done

We profiled the sources, linked and enriched metadata, and deduplicated the records before combining them into a single InEight instance. We coordinated with Change Managers around processing windows so daily operations were unaffected.

The outcome

A single InEight instance serves as the O&M source of truth, with duplicates removed. The team kept the integrations and continues to run them.

02

An energy company split terabytes of records across operations and projects.

The challenge

They had two InEight instances, one for operations and one for a project team, and terabytes of records in OpenText Content Manager.

What was done

Controlled operational records went to the operations instance and controlled project documentation to the project instance, with metadata enriched and transformed on the way. We trained the team on the new instances and provided handover documentation. We also migrated a large volume of uncontrolled documents to a new SharePoint.

The outcome

Records landed in the right instance, complete, with the team trained and documented.

03

An energy infrastructure organisation connected its whole ecosystem.

The challenge

Core business information systems were disconnected, so information moved manually between them.

What was done

All core business information systems were integrated, with training and handover.

The outcome

They can now push information to and from multiple applications.

04

A state government body works in SharePoint while records land in the records system automatically.

The challenge

Bound by public records legislation, it needed strict records management, and used OpenText Content Manager. As a new body it wanted to work only in SharePoint.

What was done

integr8 connects SharePoint and Content Manager, maps the metadata and automates the transfer.

The outcome

Staff work in SharePoint while records arrive in Content Manager automatically.
